Rotary OD Scarfing Unit for Tube Mills
The Addison Rotary Scarfing Unit is used to remove the weld bead from the OD of the tube. The "Roto Scarf" frame is a rigid fabricated steel plate assembly. The rotational gearbox is machined from a high quality steel casting. The alloy tool steel main spindle is supported by heavy-duty Timken tapered roller bearings. All internal rotating components are protected from mill coolant and contaminates by oil seals. The close tolerances, rigidity and unique tool design of this unit are the reasons the performance and cut finish quality of this patented unit are unparalleled by other scarfing methods.
A 1/2 horsepower high torque A.C. motor powers the oscilating cutting tool holder.
