Company History
Our Roots in Tube and Pipe
In 1965, Walter and his two sons, Ronald and Gerald, partnered to form Addison Machine Engineering. As a general machine shop, Addison Machine produced parts for many industries while still focusing on tube mill tooling and regrind services out of their Addison, Illinois plant. Walter instilled in his sons the values of uncompromising quality, knowledgeable service, and superior performance. By 1996, Ronald had stepped in as operations manager for the facility.
Addison's tube producing sister company was formed in 1971 by Gerald Brunken Sr. Serving primarily the automotive industry, the company went on to enjoy many years of success.
By 1977, Addison's growth necessitated a second facility, and the Reedsburg, Wisconsin, plant was opened. Ron was chosen to head up that operation, poising the company for an exciting new direction.
In 1978, Ron designed the first Addison Machine tube mill. Having worked his entire life as a supplier to the tube and pipe industry, he understood what producers want - solid, reliable, no-fuss mills. And so he started sketching out a mill that tube producers needed. His goal - design and build the best mills in the business. Ronald's first mill was that and more. The rest, as they say, is history.
2002 saw the merger of the Addison plant into the Reedsburg facility, and management of the combined operation turned over to Gerald. The merger consolidated production into a single, streamlined operation and allowed the company to integrate the very best from both Addison teams under one roof.
